Humanity, Respect & Truth.

I am a journalist documenting migration, displacement, conflict and life at the edges of crisis. My work is rooted in ethics, accountability, and the belief that people are more than the worst moments of their lives.

Let’s Work Together

Field Reporting & Humanitarian Documentation

I conduct field research and deliver visual reporting for humanitarian and conflict journalism, with experience operating in high-risk and politically sensitive contexts.

Short-term Projects, News & Reportage

I provide rapid-response visual reporting for short-term news assignments, delivering accurate, well-captioned photography from the field under tight deadlines and evolving conditions.

Consulting & Training

I provide consulting and training on ethical visual storytelling, field practice, and editorial standards for journalism and humanitarian organisations, inclusive of social media advisory for Instagram, YouTube and TikTok.

Big Ideas, Real Impact

I produce and direct documentary films, working with a trusted international team to deliver video reporting and visual stories in a wide range of environments. We are experienced operating in complex, remote, and high-pressure contexts, managing projects from research and pre-production through filming and delivery. Our work supports editorial reporting, advocacy, and funding efforts by producing clear, credible films that raise awareness, communicate impact, and strengthen engagement with audiences and stakeholders..

For photographer Giles Duley, two of the most intimate acts you can share with someone are taking their portrait and sharing a meal. Both require a form of intimacy; they are a language of connection, built on respect and the willingness to be present in a moment together.

Alys’ current project has taken her to Naples, where she is exploring the Neapolitan tradition of “Las Morfia”; the art form that assigns numbers to different components of dreams. It’s a tradition that can heavily influence the daily lives of the people of Naples.

about me

Following a serious medical complication, I became committed to documenting the world with greater attention to context, dignity, and consequence.

I work as a photojournalist and visual storyteller, producing photography and written reporting that prioritise accuracy, ethical practice, and human connection. My approach focuses on documenting people and communities in ways that resist simplification, avoid spectacle, and reflect the complexity of lived experience.

Through photography and reporting, I aim to create work that informs, connects, and endures—stories that are grounded in respect and contribute to deeper public understanding.
